The Bellagio Las Vegas has released the schedule for the 2010 Five-Star World Poker Classic running from on March 30th to April 24th, 2010. This year’s tournament series will feature several changes, including an improved blind structure (100-200 in championship events and 50-100 in preliminary and daily events), larger starting chip stacks equivalent to four times the buy-in in all events, lower buy ins and six more preliminary events. Instead of 12 $2,500 buy-in events, this year tournament will offer 18 preliminary events featuring $1,000 buy-in with rebuys.

For the first time ever, Hip Hop mogul and music producer Diddy (formerly known as Puff Daddy, P. Daddy, P. Diddy) is extending his “Safe Rides” campaign to Las Vegas and will offer party goers  free pre paid taxi cards, courtesy of Ciroc Vodka.

Former NBA all-star Antoine Walker, reached an agreement with Clark County to repay more than $900.000 the debts with three Las Vegas casinos and avoid criminal charges. The agreement was made by Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Bernie Zadrowski and Walker’s defense attorney, Johnathan Powell, and announced during a pre-trial hearing held on Monday. Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Melanie Andress-Tobiasson aproved the deal, and warned Walker about making the payments, saying that if as many as one payment was late or missed, she will send the case to a District Court

NBC’s Poker After Dark will be back on January 4th for a new season featuring thirteen new players and a mixture of regulars from previous seasons.Poker After Dark season 6, recorded in October 2009 at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas , will air thirteen new episodes, seven in the traditional six-handed winner-take-all freezeout format and six in cash games. Ali Nejad will return to Poker After Dark to provide commentary, while the popular and beautiful Leeann Tweeden will returns for her third season as the show’s host. Season 6 will kick off on January 4th, in its regular 2:05 a.m timeslot on NBC.

The Las Vegas Monorail Company celebrated the Monorail’s 40 millionth rider on Saturday, December 19th,  marking an important milestone for the Las Vegas Strip transportation system. The official 40 millionth rider was Michael Reinhardt, who was greeted by Monorail officials at the Bally’s/ Paris Las Vegas Station Reinhardt and his wife were honored with an over sized commemorative Monorail ticket and a Las Vegas gift basket containing Las Vegas Monorail tickets, a dining certificate for the Hard Rock Café, tickets to Madame Tussaud’s Las Vegas , a complimentary airplane/helicopter tour for two to the Grand Canyon, tickets for two to Legends in Concert at Harrah’s Las Vegas and Donny & Marie Osmond at the Flamingo Las Vegas , and a variety of souvenirs provided by the Las Convention and Visitors Authority and other Monorail partners.
