NAPT official sponsor, PokerStars.net and Mohegan Sun have unveiled the schedule and events for the third leg of the first annual North American Poker Tour set to run between March and April at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. The NAPT Mohegan Sun will offer players 38 poker events running from March 27th to April 13th, 2010. Some of the highlights in the tournament’s schedule includes a $5,000 buy-in Main Event and a $10,000 buy-in Bounty Shootout event, both of which will be produced for future broadcast on ESPN2

Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman has refused an invitation to meet with Presiden Barak Obama when he arrives to Sin City to campaign for Nevada Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Reid. Goodman was invited by the White House to meet the president on his arrival to Las Vegas on Thursday night and join him at a town hall event scheduled for Friday. Goodman spokesman Jace Radke said the mayor would consider the invitation if Obama promised to apologize for comments made last week suggesting that people saving money for college shouldn’t spend in it partying in Las Vegas

Cool first day at the Venetian yesterday for the start of the NAPT event. My sense at day’s end was that most everyone — players, tourney organizers, media — felt it more than met expectations. As you’ve probably read elsewhere, the turnout was huge, with 872 players altogether, making the prize pool somewhere in the neighborhood of $4 million

Preliminary reports from Las Vegas hotel and sportsbetting operators are predicting high occupancy rates and betting volume for the 2010 Super Bowl weekend. Even when the official numbers won’t be released by Nevada Gaming Authorities until later this week, several Las Vegas sportsbooks and casinos said this year’s volume is likely to reach the $90 million mark, exceeding the $81.5 million betting volume reported last year

Las Vegas Motor Speedway has released the official schedule of events for the 2010 NASCAR weekend running from February 26th to 28th, 2010 and featuring the annual NASCAR Nationwide Series Sam’s Town 300 and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Shelby American . The 2010 Nascar Weekend will offer guests and spectators a series of exciting events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Neon Garage and additional races at the LVMS Dirt Track, including  Legends Cars, Bandoleros, Thunder Roadsters,  USAC Sprints Cars and Midgets, and much more!
